The Swirl Wine Bar in ClevelandMore touring, its a tough job but someone has to take one for the team. I'm up to it LOL This is a new winebar, again all in the name Swirl automatically you know what that means. We waited here for our reservation at Harvest.

It's divided in two parts a happening bar and very intimate lounge area furnished tastefully with fireplace, soft leather couches, tables for two, hardwood floor and deck, weather permitting. The menu is light apps that will hold you until your table is ready at Harvest. Thats what I call team work...You guessed it ! We will go back!

The Harvest Kitchen & LoungeContinuing on my sweet sixteen tour, here is a new resturant in Solon, Ohio I visited. It has a great name, menu and atmosphere. I ordered a  rosemary cucumber martini. It had eye appeal but I wasnt crazy about the taste combination of cucumbers and rosemary. However the food and service were quite tasty. I will certainly go here again.

Paul and Sylvia working at the Chocolate Bar

  • Paul V (2009) and Sylvia C (2003) alums are working at the same bar and didn’t know it, at the Chocolate Bar downtown. It’s a small world for CBS grads. You can guess what their signature drink is......Chocolate Martini.
  • Elizabeth E is a recent grad busy strutting her new found bartending skills at Sam & Tommy's in Painesville. Come on down for some sports, food & drink and fun. Sam & Tommy's is family owned and the atmosphere feels cozy.
  • Laura F is a June grad serving up Pink Lemonade at Melange in Beachwood. This was a pleasant surprise to the sweet sixteen. Very swank, chic and tasty. We recommend seafood gumbo with your lemonade.
  • Here is recent grad Lindsey O strutting her skill At Cork,Willoughby. It's all in a name. Can you guess it's specialty.? Ok, you give up , it helps keep wine fresh. This is a very appealing wine bar elegantly decorated lots of wood, brick and very cozy. Keep up the good work, Lindsey

Club IsabellaClub Isabella has made an impressive comeback. We enjoyed this jazz club back in the 20th century but the new  C.I is back with a vengence. It was very well decorated, intimate dining area with the bar at your finger tips. Fresh made libations starting with the lemon, basil martini, menu is different but good and Isabella has a open lounge area.

Club Isabella is located in Little Italy at the corner of Random Road & Cornell Road.

Basil Lemonade MartiniBasil Lemonade Martini

Hello Gents!

I am located at what is called the "HOT CORNER BAR" #176. It is the first bar on the right hand side as you enter the gates across from Quicken Loans Arena on the Ontario side.

I have also placed an application at the Cleveland Browns Stadium, and I plan to do the same at Quicken Loans when they start accepting them.

THANK ALL OF YOU for your continued support. I have really enjoyed the training and the instructors.

A very special thanks to Milton!!!!!!!

It’s sunny and beautiful here in Cleveland Heights this June and we’ve got tons of grads getting jobs all over the place.  Jennifer S just got a job at J Cheers in Barberton, way to go! On the national side of things Katie G and Nick S both just got placed in Pennsylvania,
Sebastian is working in Atlanta and Chrystal H. just got placed in Orange County CA. We have grads all over the map!

In other news Will is fresh back from Orlando where we were awarded the President’s Award for Best School.  He also found the time to explore some bars around the Orlando area.

The Leadership Conference was a great time, and there was a lot to learn. There were even two Social Media  Giants there to help us get more comfortable on the world wide web, so look for us around, and don’t forget to like us on Facebook at  facebook.com/clevelandbartendingschool.

That’s it for this installment of June news, but stick around because we’ll have more for you shortly.  Enjoy the weather and have a cold one for us!

Will In Orlando

Sunday Hangover Cure in Orlando

Will is taking the sweet 16 national! Last weekend he was in Orlando and decided to let you guys know all about it. While he was attending the Professional Bartending Schools of America Leadership Conference he visited Brick House Tap and Tavern, every day he was there.

The bar was great, with a large dining room. Every seat was a leather love seat and there were three fire places. The bar was huge and split between the deck and the main dining room.  The service was great every day. The staff was so friendly they even held the doors! The best part was The Brick House was walking distance from the hotel!

Next stop in Orlando was Joe’s Crab Shack.  Joe’s was also very close to the hotel, which is a huge plus.  The food was great and so were the drinks, especially the spiked tea.  The service was a little slow but they made up for it with friendliness and the fun dance moves they had.

The last place on the list is Charley Stewart’s Seafood.  They have a fun gimmick of cooking your food at the table so you can watch them make it. I bet it saves on refires.  Everything was premium and portioned gigantically. There was a large variety of super premium alcohols.
This is the place to go for your last hurrah before you head home, you’ll be full for days.  The dirty martini was the highlight of the visit. They chilled the glass the same way we do here, the old fashioned way of icing the glass while you mix the drink.

That’s all for our short Florida recap. Stay close by for more updates and drink recipes and have an excellent first few weeks of summer!

True Confession

A Confession From Erika

I decided to become a bartender because I love meeting and interacting with new people, and I also love going home with cash in my pocket!

Bartending gives me the freedom to work my day job and make extra money at night! Believe it or not, it's also a great way to network with other people in the community!

My favorite drink is a Pink Pear Martini: Grey Goose Pear Vodka, 7-up, and a splash of grenadine!
